ਗੁਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਓ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ॥੧॥

Gur sang ḋikʰaa▫i▫o raam raa▫é. ||1||

The Guru has shown me that my Sovereign Lord God is with me. ||1||

ਮਿਲੁ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਬਨੇ ॥

Mil sakʰee sahélee har gun bané.

Joining together with my friends and companions, I am adorned with the Lord’s Glorious Virtues.

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਖੇਲਹਿ ਵਰ ਕਾਮਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖੋਜਤ ਮਨ ਮਨੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Har parabʰ sang kʰélėh var kaaman gurmukʰ kʰojaṫ man mané. ||1|| rahaa▫o.

The sublime soul-brides play with their Lord God. The Gurmukhs look within themselves; their minds are filled with faith. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨਮੁਖੀ ਦੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਭੇਉ ॥

Manmukʰee ḋuhaagaṇ naahi bʰé▫o.

The self-willed Manmukhs, suffering in separation, do not understand this mystery.

ਓਹੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਾਵੈ ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰੇਉ ॥

Oh gʰat gʰat raavæ sarab paré▫o.

The Beloved Lord of all celebrates in each and every heart.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਥਿਰੁ ਚੀਨੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਦੇਉ ॥

Gurmukʰ ṫʰir cheenæ sang ḋé▫o.

The Gurmukh is stable, knowing that God is always with him.

ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਜਪੁ ਜਪੇਉ ॥੨॥

Gur naam driṛ▫aa▫i▫aa jap japé▫o. ||2||

The Guru has implanted the Naam within me; I chant it, and meditate on it. ||2||

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਭਾਉ ਹੋਇ ॥

Bin gur bʰagaṫ na bʰaa▫o ho▫é.

Without the Guru, devotional love does not well up within.

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਸੰਗੁ ਦੇਇ ॥

Bin gur sanṫ na sang ḋé▫é.

Without the Guru, one is not blessed with the Society of the Saints.

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਧੰਧੁ ਰੋਇ ॥

Bin gur anḋʰulé ḋʰanḋʰ ro▫é.

Without the Guru, the blind cry out, entangled in worldly affairs.

ਮਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮਲੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਖੋਇ ॥੩॥

Man gurmukʰ nirmal mal sabaḋ kʰo▫é. ||3||

That mortal who becomes Gurmukh becomes immaculate; the Word of the Shabad washes away his filth. ||3||

ਗੁਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥

Gur man maari▫o kar sanjog.

Uniting with the Guru, the mortal conquers and subdues his mind.

ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰਾਵੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਜੋਗੁ ॥

Ahinis raavé bʰagaṫ jog.

Day and night, he savors the Yoga of devotional worship.

ਗੁਰ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਰੋਗੁ ॥

Gur sanṫ sabʰaa ḋukʰ mitæ rog.

Associating with the Saint Guru, suffering and sickness are ended.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਸਹਜ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੪॥੬॥

Jan Naanak har var sahj jog. ||4||6||

Servant Nanak merges with his Husband Lord, in the Yoga of intuitive ease. ||4||6||

ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥

Basanṫ mėhlaa 1.

Basant, First Mehl:

ਆਪੇ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਸਾਜਿ ॥

Aapé kuḋraṫ karé saaj.

By His Creative Power, God fashioned the creation.

ਸਚੁ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਬੇੜੇ ਰਾਜੁ ਰਾਜਿ ॥

Sach aap nibéṛé raaj raaj.

The King of kings Himself administers true justice.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਥਿ ॥

Gurmaṫ ooṫam sang saaṫʰ.

The most sublime Word of the Guru’s Teachings is always with us.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਆਥਿ ॥੧॥

Har naam rasaa▫iṇ sahj aaṫʰ. ||1||

The wealth of the Lord’s Name, the source of nectar, is easily acquired. ||1||

ਮਤ ਬਿਸਰਸਿ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਬੋਲਿ ॥

Maṫ bisras ré man raam bol.

So, chant the Name of the Lord; do not forget it, O my mind.

ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਤੁਲਾਏ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਤੋਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Aprampar agam agochar gurmukʰ har aap ṫulaa▫é aṫul ṫol. ||1|| rahaa▫o.

The Lord is Infinite, Inaccessible and Incomprehensible; His weight cannot be weighed, but He Himself allows the Gurmukh to weigh Him. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਸਰੇਵਹਿ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਤੋਰ ॥

Gur charan sarévėh gursikʰ ṫor.

Your GurSikhs serve at the Guru’s Feet.

ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵ ਤਰੇ ਤਜਿ ਮੇਰ ਤੋਰ ॥

Gur sév ṫaré ṫaj mér ṫor.

Serving the Guru, they are carried across; they have abandoned any distinction between ’mine’ and ’yours’.

ਨਰ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਲੋਭੀ ਮਨਿ ਕਠੋਰ ॥

Nar ninḋak lobʰee man katʰor.

The slanderous and greedy people are hard-hearted.

ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵ ਨ ਭਾਈ ਸਿ ਚੋਰ ਚੋਰ ॥੨॥

Gur sév na bʰaa▫ee sė chor chor. ||2||

Those who do not love to serve the Guru are the most thieving of thieves. ||2||

ਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਬਖਸੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਉ ॥

Gur ṫutʰaa bakʰsé bʰagaṫ bʰaa▫o.

When the Guru is pleased, He blesses the mortals with loving devotional worship of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਮਹਲਿ ਠਾਉ ॥

Gur ṫutʰæ paa▫ee▫æ har mahal tʰaa▫o.

When the Guru is pleased, the mortal obtains a place in the Mansion of the Lord’s Presence.

ਪਰਹਰਿ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਾਗੁ ॥

Par▫har ninḋaa har bʰagaṫ jaag.

So, renounce slander, and awaken in devotional worship of the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਕਰਮਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥੩॥

Har bʰagaṫ suhaavee karam bʰaag. ||3||

Devotion to the Lord is wonderful; it comes through good karma and destiny. ||3||

ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਕਰੇ ਦਾਤਿ ॥

Gur mél milaavæ karé ḋaaṫ.

The Guru unites in union with the Lord, and grants the gift of the Name.

ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥

Gursikʰ pi▫aaré ḋinas raaṫ.

The Guru loves His Sikhs, day and night.

ਫਲੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਸਿ ਦੇਇ ॥

Fal naam paraapaṫ gur ṫus ḋé▫é.

They obtain the fruit of the Naam, when the Guru’s favor is bestowed.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕੇਇ ॥੪॥੭॥

Kaho Naanak paavahi virlé ké▫é. ||4||7||

Says Nanak, those who receive it are very rare indeed. ||4||7||

ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਇਕ ਤੁਕਾ ॥

Basanṫ mėhlaa 3 ik ṫukaa.

Basant, Third Mehl, Ik-Tukas:

ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੈ ॥

Saahib bʰaavæ sévak sévaa karæ.

When it pleases our Lord and Master, His servant serves Him.

ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਸਭਿ ਕੁਲ ਉਧਰੈ ॥੧॥

Jeevaṫ maræ sabʰ kul uḋʰræ. ||1||

He remains dead (without worldly desires) while still alive, and redeems all his ancestors. ||1||

ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਛੋਡਉ ਕਿਆ ਕੋ ਹਸੈ ॥

Ṫéree bʰagaṫ na chʰoda▫o ki▫aa ko hasæ.

I shall not renounce Your devotional worship, O Lord; what does it matter if people laugh at me?

ਸਾਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Saach naam méræ hirḋæ vasæ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.

The True Name abides within my heart. ||1||Pause||

ਜੈਸੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਗਲਤੁ ਰਹੈ ॥

Jæsé maa▫i▫aa mohi paraaṇee galaṫ rahæ.

Just as the mortal remains engrossed in attachment to Maya,

ਤੈਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਵਤ ਰਹੈ ॥੨॥

Ṫæsé sanṫ jan raam naam ravaṫ rahæ. ||2||

So does the Lord’s humble Saint remain absorbed in the Lord’s Name. ||2||

ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆ ॥

Mæ moorakʰ mugaḋʰ oopar karahu ḋa▫i▫aa.

I am foolish and ignorant, O Lord; please be merciful to me.

ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਰਹਉ ਪਇਆ ॥੩॥

Ṫa▫o sarṇaagaṫ raha▫o pa▫i▫aa. ||3||

May I remain in Your Sanctuary. ||3||

ਕਹਤੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਕਾਮਾ ॥

Kahaṫ Naanak sansaar ké nihfal kaamaa.

Says Nanak, worldly affairs are fruitless.

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕੋ ਪਾਵੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੪॥੮॥

Gur parsaaḋ ko paavæ amriṫ naamaa. ||4||8||

Only by Guru’s Grace does one receive the Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||8||

ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਹਿੰਡੋਲ ਘਰੁ ੨

Mėhlaa 1 basanṫ hindol gʰar 2

First Mehl, Basant Hindol, Second House:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ.

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸਾਲ ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਬਿਪ ਪੂਜਿ ਮਨਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤੁਲਸੀ ਮਾਲਾ ॥

Saal garaam bip pooj manaavahu sukariṫ ṫulsee maalaa.

O Brahmin, you worship and believe in your stone-god, and wear your ceremonial rosary beads.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਬੇੜਾ ਬਾਂਧਹੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥੧॥

Raam naam jap béṛaa baaⁿḋʰahu ḋa▫i▫aa karahu ḋa▫i▫aalaa. ||1||

Chant the Name of the Lord. Build your boat, and pray, “O Merciful Lord, please be merciful to me.”||1||
