1166 ਨਾਮੇ ਸਰ ਭਰਿ ਸੋਨਾ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੧੦॥ Naamé sar bʰar sonaa lého. ||10|| Here, take Namdev’s weight in gold, and release him.”||10|| ਮਾਲੁ ਲੇਉ ਤਉ ਦੋਜਕਿ ਪਰਉ ॥ Maal lé▫o ṫa▫o ḋojak para▫o. The king replied, “If I take the gold, then I will be consigned to hell, ਦੀਨੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਕਉ ਭਰਉ ॥੧੧॥ Ḋeen chʰod ḋunee▫aa ka▫o bʰara▫o. ||11|| by forsaking my faith and gathering worldly wealth.”||11|| ਪਾਵਹੁ ਬੇੜੀ ਹਾਥਹੁ ਤਾਲ ॥ Paavhu béṛee haaṫʰhu ṫaal. With his feet in chains, Namdev kept the beat with his hands, ਨਾਮਾ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਨ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੧੨॥ Naamaa gaavæ gun gopaal. ||12|| singing the Praises of the Lord. ||12|| ਗੰਗ ਜਮੁਨ ਜਉ ਉਲਟੀ ਬਹੈ ॥ Gang jamun ja▫o ultee bahæ. Even if the Ganges and the Jamuna rivers flow backwards, ਤਉ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਰਹੈ ॥੧੩॥ Ṫa▫o naamaa har karṫaa rahæ. ||13|| I will still continue singing the Praises of the Lord.”||13|| ਸਾਤ ਘੜੀ ਜਬ ਬੀਤੀ ਸੁਣੀ ॥ Saaṫ gʰaṛee jab beeṫee suṇee. Three hours passed, ਅਜਹੁ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਧਣੀ ॥੧੪॥ Ajahu na aa▫i▫o ṫaribʰavaṇ ḋʰaṇee. ||14|| and even then, the Lord of the three worlds had not come. ||14|| ਪਾਖੰਤਣ ਬਾਜ ਬਜਾਇਲਾ ॥ Paakʰanṫaṇ baaj bajaa▫ilaa. Playing on the instrument of the feathered wings, ਗਰੁੜ ਚੜੑੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਆਇਲਾ ॥੧੫॥ Garuṛ chaṛĥé gobinḋ aa▫ilaa. ||15|| the Lord of the Universe came, mounted on the eagle garura. ||15|| ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਪਰਿ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥ Apné bʰagaṫ par kee parṫipaal. He cherished His devotee, ਗਰੁੜ ਚੜੑੇ ਆਏ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੧੬॥ Garuṛ chaṛĥé aa▫é gopaal. ||16|| and the Lord came, mounted on the eagle garura. ||16|| ਕਹਹਿ ਤ ਧਰਣਿ ਇਕੋਡੀ ਕਰਉ ॥ Kahėh ṫa ḋʰaraṇ ikodee kara▫o. The Lord said to him, “If you wish, I shall turn the earth sideways. ਕਹਹਿ ਤ ਲੇ ਕਰਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਧਰਉ ॥੧੭॥ Kahėh ṫa lé kar oopar ḋʰara▫o. ||17|| If you wish, I shall turn it upside down. ||17|| ਕਹਹਿ ਤ ਮੁਈ ਗਊ ਦੇਉ ਜੀਆਇ ॥ Kahėh ṫa mu▫ee ga▫oo ḋé▫o jee▫aa▫é. If you wish, I shall bring the dead cow back to life. ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਦੇਖੈ ਪਤੀਆਇ ॥੧੮॥ Sabʰ ko▫ee ḋékʰæ paṫee▫aa▫é. ||18|| Everyone will see and be convinced.”||18|| ਨਾਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਸੇਲ ਮਸੇਲ ॥ Naamaa paraṇvæ sél masél. Namdev prayed, and milked the cow. ਗਊ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਬਛਰਾ ਮੇਲਿ ॥੧੯॥ Ga▫oo ḋuhaa▫ee bachʰraa mél. ||19|| He brought the calf to the cow, and milked her. ||19|| ਦੂਧਹਿ ਦੁਹਿ ਜਬ ਮਟੁਕੀ ਭਰੀ ॥ Ḋooḋʰėh ḋuhi jab matukee bʰaree. When the pitcher was filled with milk, ਲੇ ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹ ਕੇ ਆਗੇ ਧਰੀ ॥੨੦॥ Lé baaḋisaah ké aagé ḋʰaree. ||20|| Namdev took it and placed it before the king. ||20|| ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹੁ ਮਹਲ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ Baaḋisaahu mahal mėh jaa▫é. The king went into his palace, ਅਉਘਟ ਕੀ ਘਟ ਲਾਗੀ ਆਇ ॥੨੧॥ A▫ugʰat kee gʰat laagee aa▫é. ||21|| and his heart was troubled. ||21|| ਕਾਜੀ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਇ ॥ Kaajee mulaaⁿ binṫee furmaa▫é. Through the Qazis and the Mullahs, the king offered his prayer, ਬਖਸੀ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਾਇ ॥੨੨॥ Bakʰsee hinḋoo mæ ṫéree gaa▫é. ||22|| Forgive me, please, O Hindu; I am just a cow before you.||22|| ਨਾਮਾ ਕਹੈ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹ ॥ Naamaa kahæ sunhu baaḋisaah. Namdev said, “Listen, O king: ਇਹੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਤੀਆ ਮੁਝੈ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥੨੩॥ Ih kichʰ paṫee▫aa mujʰæ ḋikʰaa▫é. ||23|| have I done this miracle? ||23|| ਇਸ ਪਤੀਆ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥ Is paṫee▫aa kaa ihæ parvaan. The purpose of this miracle is ਸਾਚਿ ਸੀਲਿ ਚਾਲਹੁ ਸੁਲਿਤਾਨ ॥੨੪॥ Saach seel chaalahu suliṫaan. ||24|| that you, O king, should walk on the path of truth and humility.”||24|| ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਸਭ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ Naamḋé▫o sabʰ rahi▫aa samaa▫é. Namdev became famous everywhere for this. ਮਿਲਿ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਸਭ ਨਾਮੇ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੨੫॥ Mil hinḋoo sabʰ naamé pėh jaahi. ||25|| The Hindus all went together to Namdev. ||25|| ਜਉ ਅਬ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਜੀਵੈ ਗਾਇ ॥ Ja▫o ab kee baar na jeevæ gaa▫é. If the cow had not been revived, ਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਕਾ ਪਤੀਆ ਜਾਇ ॥੨੬॥ Ṫa Naamḋév kaa paṫee▫aa jaa▫é. ||26|| people would have lost faith in Namdev. ||26|| ਨਾਮੇ ਕੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਰਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥ Naamé kee keeraṫ rahee sansaar. The fame of Namdev spread throughout the world. ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਲੇ ਉਧਰਿਆ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨੭॥ Bʰagaṫ janaaⁿ lé uḋʰri▫aa paar. ||27|| The humble devotees were saved and carried across with him. ||27|| ਸਗਲ ਕਲੇਸ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਭਇਆ ਖੇਦੁ ॥ Sagal kalés ninḋak bʰa▫i▫aa kʰéḋ. All sorts of troubles and pains afflicted the slanderer. ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਭੇਦੁ ॥੨੮॥੧॥੧੦॥ Naamé naaraa▫in naahee bʰéḋ. ||28||1||10|| There is no difference between Namdev and the Lord. ||28||1||10|| ਘਰੁ ੨ ॥ Gʰar 2. Second House: ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa milæ muraar. By the Grace of the Divine Guru, one meets the Lord. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਉਤਰੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa uṫræ paar. By the Grace of the Divine Guru, one is carried across to the other side. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਤਰੈ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa bækuntʰ ṫaræ. By the Grace of the Divine Guru, one swims across to heaven. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ॥੧॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa jeevaṫ maræ. ||1|| By the Grace of the Divine Guru, one remains dead while still alive. ||1|| ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ Saṫ saṫ saṫ saṫ saṫ gurḋév. True, True, True True, True is the Divine Guru. ਝੂਠੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਆਨ ਸਭ ਸੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ Jʰootʰ jʰootʰ jʰootʰ jʰootʰ aan sabʰ sév. ||1|| rahaa▫o. False, false, false, false are all other services. ||1||Pause|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵੈ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa naam ḋariṛ▫aavæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is implanted within. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਨ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਧਾਵੈ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o na ḋah ḋis ḋʰaavæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one does not wander in the ten directions. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਪੰਚ ਤੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o panch ṫé ḋoor. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, the five demons are kept far away. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਨ ਮਰਿਬੋ ਝੂਰਿ ॥੨॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o na maribo jʰoor. ||2|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one does not die regretting. ||2|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa amriṫ baanee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one is blessed with the Ambrosial Bani of the Word. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa akaṫʰ kahaanee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one speaks the Unspoken Speech. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇਹ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa amriṫ ḋéh. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one’s body becomes like ambrosial nectar. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਲੇਹਿ ॥੩॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o naam jap léhi. ||3|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one utters and chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਭਵਨ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਸੂਝੈ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o bʰavan ṫaræ soojʰæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one sees the three worlds. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਊਚ ਪਦ ਬੂਝੈ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ooch paḋ boojʰæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one understands the state of supreme dignity. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਸੀਸੁ ਅਕਾਸਿ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa sees akaas. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one’s head is in the Akashic ethers. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥੪॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o saḋaa saabaas. ||4|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one is always congratulated everywhere. ||4|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਸਦਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o saḋaa bæraagee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one remains detached forever. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o par ninḋaa ṫi▫aagee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one forsakes the slander of others. |
